Parties and Bling
Had a sleep deprived and good weekend. Friday was the usual, did a few drinks in Queensway first with AB, went on to Camden to meet SB and did the pub/club thing. Got home at 6 am and was woken up at 9 am by a work related issue. Not very chuffed with that one! I went to the might Arsenal on Saturday. The new Stadium is awesome. The views are great everywhere. It is still a bit of a library but hopefully that will change over the season. Watching the boys win 3-0 wasn't too bad either.
A lot of the crew went to a house party in Tulse Hill for a friends birthday. We watched someone fall in the pond, which was on the cards from the moment we got there. A few of us positioned ourselves near it on purpose just waiting for the stack. Always good to see comedic predictions come true. Another 6 am roll thought the door.
Had a bit of lunch with AB, SB, my norwegian nutty friend Cute N, and the only people I know getting married this year S & U. S & U are a really nice couple, it is good to see people who are in love and are making that move to tie the knot. Not many of my peeps do that and it does give hope for all of us! I don't see them often so is cool when I do. They have also got a new puppy who is sooo cute. I don't often go silly over many things but I do over puppies.
Jumped on the train with Cute N, and caught up as she has just come back from Norway, and we haven't seen each other in months. We discussed a friend who was thinking about moving in with her ex boyfriend soon. This friend only recently split up with the guy, has been really cut up about him after he treated her like crap and cheated on her. And now she wants to move in with him as a friend. I just think some people are too blinded by their emotions and don't think things through. I mean how will she feel when he brings home girls? The worse thing as well is that we have all been really annoyed with this guy for hurting her, and now because she wants to be friends, we have to get rid of our opinions on him, which is hard to do. I guess you just have to let people make their own mistakes?
Sunday night was the highlight. Went and say Jay Z at Wembley Arena. I don't like Wembley, it has an awful seating arrangement and the acoustics are rubbish, but jay Z was pure class. Akala played who is the next big thing in UK hip hop (he won a MOBO) but I wasn't impressed at all. Kano was good, as was Lupe Fiasco who did both did a few songs. Jay Z just knocked out the park. He played all of the hits and even had Nas and Beyonce come on and do a few tracks which was awesome. Beyonce is not someone I would willing go and see but she was fantastic, a very good performance.
Seeing Lupe Fiasco do his own thing tonight at the Scala, so going on last nights brief performance, should be another top night.
